Solutions That Work For Your Junior Golfer
GROWING THE GAME OF A LIFETIME

HOW THE GOLF TOUR WORKS:

The PJGT was created 14 years ago to give new junior golfers the opportunity to learn how to play the game of golf in a fun controlled environment. Offering boys and girls ages 7 to 15, the opportunity to play competitive golf with players of the same skill level. Players are placed on a 4-person team by A-B-C-D skill levels and play players in their age division in a round robin tournament format. Points are accrued through out the season, with the winning teams earning awards at seasons end. The program is open to all beginner youth golfers, who want to hone their skills before taking the next step up to the individual levels of competition. The PJGT helps prepare players by teaching them the rules of golf, the etiquette of the game, as well as the principles of teamwork. All tournaments are directed under the supervision of PGA golf professionals. Cost for the upcoming fall season is $295.00 per player and includes a team hat, shirt, tournament fees and awards banquet at the season end.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    A. The 2022 fall season will begin taking paid registrations on September 7, 2022 with the deadline to register set for September 22nd or the first 16 paid players which ever comes first. Any players registering after the deadline will be placed on the waiting list in the order they were received.  Tournaments are scheduled to start Sunday, September 25th. • Q. How much does the Fall season tour cost?
    A. The registration fee for the 2022 fall season is $295.00 per player. The registration fee covers the entire fall season (5 tournaments) including a shirt, cap, tournament fees and the awards banquet. The registration fee does not include range balls or gallery carts on days of the tournaments. PLAYERS AND CADDIES MUST WALK.
  • Q. What about age groups and divisions?
    A. The 2022 fall season will be open to players ages 7 to 15. How many different age divisions we have will be dependent on the number of entrants? In case of only one division players will play from their respective tees based on their age.
  • Q. How do teams compete?
    A. Teams compete against other teams in their division using three different tournament formats (best ball, scramble, and alternate shot).
  • Q. How are the Teams chosen?
    A. A player registers for the PJGT and then must come to a scheduled “Skill Assessment” event. Players that have played in our tournaments before or who are currently attending one of our junior golf development programs DO NOT need to attend a “Skill Assessment” event. Check the calendar page for dates and locations. Each player is evaluated on their skill level in swing, putting, chipping, rules and etiquette. Each player is then given an overall ability rating and placed on a team appropriately. Each team of four players will be evenly skilled with other teams, with each team containing an A, B, C, D level player. Please see below if a child is not ready to play on a team this season.
  • Q. What if my child isn’t ready to play in the tour?
    A. There are many options available for children to continue their growth in golf including the Premier Junior Golf Academy, Junior Golf Camps, private or group instruction programs located throughout the North Texas area.
